Happy 20th anniversary to WDAV's Mozart Cafe! WDAV hosted a special broadcast and open house to mark the 20th anniversary of our weekday, noon-hour show featuring music by Mozart and his contemporaries.
On Monday, September 1, 2014, the station opened its doors for the community to visit for live music, station tours, giveaways, and refreshments. The John Clark Performance Studio hosted two live performances during the event: the first, a small ensemble of Charlotte Symphony musicians, and the second, pianist and Davidson College artist associate Cynthia Lawing. Mozart Café alumni Rachel Stewart and Frank Dominguez were on hand as well to greet guests for the celebration.
Matt Rogers, current host of The Mozart Café, says “The program has become a regular part of many people’s lives. It’s something they can count on to get them through their day. I am thrilled for the opportunity to honor that and to thank listeners for their 20 years of unwavering support.”
Performance/Chats Encore: Because once isn't enough, you can hear the anniversary celebration's Performance/Chats again here. Enjoy these in-studio performances by CSO musicians (cellist Alan Black and violinists Joseph Meyer and Kari Giles) and pianist Cynthia Lawing.
