Join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Britten, the English composer, conductor, and pianist. We’ll offer special programming throughout the week to spotlight Britten’s work, including:

Choral Showcase: November 17, 6:00 p.m.
A special edition of Choral Showcase features the entire War Requiem of 1962. A powerful and moving tribute to the dead of many wars, Britten’s War Requiem was first performed in the newly repaired Coventry Cathedral. 

Symphony @ 7: November 18-21, 7:00 p.m. 
All week on Symphony @ 7, Joe Brant will feature works by Britten:
November 18: Violin Concerto, Opus 15 - Janine Jansen, violin; London Symphony Orchestra, Paavo Jarvi, conductor
November 19: Variations on a Theme by Frank Bridge, Opus 10 - Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Candida Thompson, conductor
November 20: Symphony for Cello and Orchestra, Opus 68 - Alban Gerhardt, cello; BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Andrew Manze, conductor
November 21: Serenade, Opus 31 - James Gilchrist, tenor; Jasper de Waal, horn; Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Candida Thompson, conductor
