Davidson College Announces Leadership Changes at WDAV
Thursday December 23, 2010

DAVIDSON, NC – December 23, 2010 - Davidson College announced today that WDAV General Manager Benjamin K. Roe will leave the post on January 14, 2011 to return to his public-media consulting practice, RoeDeo Productions.

Assistant General Manager Kim Cline, who has been with WDAV for four years, has been named acting general manager, and a national search for a permanent GM will begin early in the new year.

Eileen Keeley, who oversees WDAV as vice president for college relations at Davidson College, said, “Ben and his staff have accomplished a great deal during his tenure at the station. Thanks to their efforts, WDAV is a trusted cultural partner throughout our region and an important player on the national public media stage. We’re pleased that this move is prompted by happy developments in Ben’s personal life: He and WDAV mid-day host Jennifer Foster have announced that they plan to marry in 2011. We’re very happy for both of them, and I know the creative staff at WDAV will continue to deliver extraordinary programming and innovative community partnerships throughout this transition and for many years to come.”

Keeley noted that Foster will continue in her role as announcer and producer at WDAV, and she said that Davidson College has entered into a temporary contractor relationship with RoeDeo, which will allow Roe to remain involved during this transition with WDAV initiatives including Concierto, the nation’s first bilingual classical music program, NPR World of Opera, Carolina Live, and the station’s coverage of summer festivals.
