DAVIDSON & CHARLOTTE, NC – 89.9 WDAV Classical Public Radio announced today that it will celebrate the station’s 35th anniversary from December 2-6.
WDAV has been the area’s Classical Companion since 1978, when it first became a professionally-run station with an all classical format. Since then, the station has been providing high quality classical music and working to create a vibrant local arts community. “WDAV has had an impact in the Carolinas for 35 years,” says Frank Dominguez, WDAV General Manager & Content Director. “By keeping our listeners connected with local arts organizations and events, offering warm companionship 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and sharing our passion for music, the station fosters an important sense of community in the area. We look forward to celebrating this important milestone with the WDAV family.”
During the week of December 2, WDAV was honored to host live studio performances by local artists who joined our celebration. The 35th anniversary week culminated on December 6th when WDAV presented its annual live broadcast of Charlotte Lessons and Carols from St. John's, and on that evening, when it welcomed the community into its home for a Holiday Open House.
