Start the week with a boost of culture in a social setting. Modern Mondays programs provide an opportunity to interact with museum professionals, scholars and others who present a deeper understanding of works on exhibition in the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Event reception begins at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 6:30p.m. Tickets are $8 for non-members and free for members. Cash bar. Tickets may be purchased at bechtler.org, by phone 704-353-9200 or at the visitor services desk.
November 5: “Living With Art”: Carolyn Jacobs, senior studio faculty member at Central Piedmont Community College and Karen Derksen, director of Winthrop University Galleries lead a lecture on how to select art for the home and the practical issues of maintaining it. Participants will tour the current museum exhibitions and learn how the Bechtlers incorporated art into their daily life.
