  • The Arts Council of York County kicks off 2013 with The Tints That Glow, an exhibit by Caroline Rust, in the Dalton Gallery at the Center for the Arts, 121 East Main Street, Rock Hill. This exhibition will be on display from January 4 - February 17, 2013, with a free, public reception on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 6:00 PM. Using Lord Byron's poem, She Walks in Beauty as a backbone, Rust's The Tints That Glow is an exploration of femininity and its evasive qualities, a woman's identity and her pursuit for a sense of self. Through a study of cosmetics and the woman's utensils, these works investigate the internal lives of women while focusing upon her objects either cherished or loathed. A presenting sponsor of this exhibition is O'Darby's Fine Wine and Spirits. Also at the Center for the Arts are works by Allison Tierney in the Perimeter Gallery, and Batik by Jessica Calloway's students from Fort Mill High School in the Edmund Lewandowski Classroom Gallery.
