  • Doors open: 6:15 PM - Join bestselling author Isabel Allende in her only NC appearance on tour for the hardcover English release of MAYA'S NOTEBOOK. Born in Peru and raised in Chile, she has authored bestselling novels including: THE HOUSE OF THE SPIRITS, EVA LUNA, THE ISLAND BENEATH THE SEA, ZORRO, PORTRAIT IN SEPIA, DAUGHTER OF FORTUNE, PAULA; and a trilogy of young adult novels. Her books have been translated into more than 27 languages and have become bestsellers across four continents. Ms. Allende was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and was awarded the 2010 National Prize for Literature, Chile's most prestigious literary award. Books will be on sale before and after the event. A book signing follows her presentation. All proceeds benefit BOOKMARKS, a nonprofit literary organization.
