The concert features some 25 performers, ranging in age from 7 to 17 years, representing musical interests from Celtic fiddle tunes to blues and bluegrass; Gypsy jazz guitar to classical guitar; and American stringband tunes to contemporary folk songs. Add members of the Charlotte Scottish Country Dance Society Youth Troupe for a very lively evening. Performers' resumes include Festival in the Park, Tosco Music Party & MerleFest. Some have captured prizes at fiddlers’ conventions. Three are winners of the Folk Society’s Marilyn Meacham Price Youth Scholarship to the Swannanoa Gathering Folk Arts Workshops at Warren Wilson College. CFS Gatherings are family-friendly and free; donations appreciated. Refreshments, singing, jams & Appalachian Dulcimer Club follow concert. Free parking in a nearby deck. Doors open at 7 PM.
