David Tang leads the Piedmont Baroque Consortium in the modern-day, world-premiere performances of Antonio Lotti’s Gloria in C Number One. Rediscovered after 300 years of obscurity, this masterwork for chorus and orchestra will be presented on period instruments with Cantata BWV 1 “Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern" by J.S. Bach and Georg Muffat’s “Passacaglia No. V from Armonico Tributo.” Performers include: VOX, the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra, the Chamber Singers of Centenary, Abigail Haynes Lennox and Margaret Carpenter-Sopranos, Reginald Mobley-Countertenor, Glenn Siebert-Tenor, and Neal Sharpe-Bass-baritone.
