WDAV’s Weekly Newsletter is Now The Companion

November 24, 2025

WDAV’s weekly email newsletter just got a new look… and a new name! We’re proud to introduce The Companion, a freshly reimagined arts and culture roundup designed for discovery. Every Friday morning, we pack the latest from our local creative scene into an enjoyable read that pairs perfectly with your morning coffee. Here’s what you can look forward to as a subscriber:

A personal touch from your favorite WDAV voices.

What sets the tone better than a personal note? The Companion kicks off with a few candid thoughts from a different WDAV host every week. You never know who you’ll hear from each Friday, and that’s part of the fun!

What’s happening in our region (and beyond).

The community WDAV serves is alive with creativity! We’ll pull together bite-sized, mostly local arts and culture updates for a quick read, all linked to full-length features for a deeper dive into the story. Plus, you’ll be the first to know about WDAV events like Small Batch and the Reel Music film series.

What’s playing on 89.9 WDAV.

WDAV’s on-air music and arts programming is here for you 24/7… but unless you listen around the clock (no judgement), you might be missing out on your next favorite thing. We’ll keep you posted on seasonal specials, new series, studio sessions with local artists, live broadcasts, and so much more.

Friday fun (and FanFare) to welcome the weekend.

The Companion preps you for the best weekend ever, every weekend. We wrap things up with a weekly trivia question and highlights from FanFare, WDAV’s weekend guide to sounds, sights, and bites across the Carolinas. You’ll never run out of new discoveries, even in your own neighborhood!
