Public Media Giving Days is Today

Today is the third annual Public Media Giving Day, a nationwide initiative by public radio and television stations asking listeners to financially support and advocate for the community broadcasting services they hold dear.

This occasion has taken on a heightened sense of importance now that the White House has formally asked Congress to rescind the federal funding that WDAV receives via a Community Service Grant from the Corporation For Public Broadcasting (CPB). If rescinded, WDAV will need to fill a $250,000 funding gap in order to continue the programming you and our community rely on.  

To help, a group of generous donors who want to inspire others to join them in ensuring WDAV’s long term survival have agreed to match all gifts made on Public Media Giving Day up to $10,000. If you value the service that WDAV provides, please consider making a gift today so that it can be matched dollar for dollar. Your donation of any amount – whether it’s $10 or $500 – will move us closer to maximizing the match and puts WDAV in a better position should CPB funding be eliminated.
